Moving this weekend I was forced to listen to all four games on my handy dandy iPhone using the MLB app. I gotta tell you, Howie Rose is just one of the best announcers in the game and will be one of the all-time greats!

Listening to the game on Friday night, Howie gave a quick little heartfelt mention on how he truly hopes the Mets figure something out and keep him in NY because the Mets do need him. He went ahead and mentioned how he is only 28 years of age, minus the injury plagued seasons he has been one of the brightest spots for the Mets.

Before this year began, I can honestly say that I didn’t agree. The injuries kept me hesitant about what this team needed to do and we all know they needed change. Reyes being injured was always a downer because when he played, the Mets more than likely won the game. I still have fears that if the Mets do figure out a way to sign him, he will still be plagued by injuries. It’s the Mets curse! But you can’t predict the future so I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

As of right now, I do hope they bring him back. Listening and reading to fellow Mets fans, there really is no one else that can take his place and if the Mets expect to be any kind of contender, they need to bring him back and fix the other problems we have…like pitching!
