One Down, Two More To Go

Young and his bat helped the mets to their first win over the Phillies last night 7 -1. Young was stellar all the way through five innings, survived the 6th with a scare until Collins finally took him out of the game realizing it could get ugly real quick. I’m not going to bust on Young for being out of gas, but I hope it doesn’t get worse as the season goes on. If Young keeps this type of game up, and he’s shown inklings that he can, we have a great arm in the rotation we desperately need.
Wright had a great day at the plate getting four hits and driving in two. This came after striking out in the first with two men is scoring position, thus showing he didn’t let that get to his head – nor the rest of the team. This is also another great sign of moving on from the past and getting this team where it needs to be, and that’s the postseason.
This has been a great start to this series, and the season so far. Big Pelf takes the mound tonight and I hope he shows us something better than he did against the fish. The Mets can hit Blanton, so if he can keep us in the game, we have a shot of taking this series tonight and heading back to Citi Field on the right path.
